I've only played one album[The who by numbers]so far,got the "Cusat"at 10am today, and yes they are clearer but still manage to bring out the growly, bit in Roger Daltreys voice.
I'm using a Linn lp12 itock ii at, oc9mk3, Cambridge audio 640p pre-amp,Crimson electrick power amps and KEF 105.4 speakers. More later when I've had a bit of a listen.

Well,Ive had over a week to listen to the "Cusat"and overall they are a bit brighter than the cheap cable.
I asked my wife to have a listen,"Cusat" first[Good morning judge,10cc] she said that the cheap cable was better balanced and although the"Cusat" was clearer it was too sharp. Before asking my wife's opinion I listened to; The Velvet underground.came out a bit too raucus* Aliens ate my buick.too bright* The liquid acrobat ascribes the air.raucus* So...I think that the At oc9mk3+ the Cambridge 640p combination is just short of being too bright so adding the "Cusat" takes the sound "over the top" Any Comments anyone? *caused by poor connections on the volume control.

I think it might be worth while to PM Suggs for a loan of a Reflex C or a Fanfare and then see how the balance is. |

Good idea,Ill try my home built disc preamp or my daughters Arcam to rule out the amplification.
The other thing is that the cartridge has about 50 hours use so might not be run in.

You might also consider a little more VTF or lowering the arm a little, both will alter the stylus rake angle and reduce treble response. As you note, more time make also make a difference. |
