The Lautus isn't a guarantee against RFI although it may help. It was designed from a question which started "what if..." and after we demo'ed it here to each other we felt it improved reproduction, and therefore we decided to sell it. There are lots of other factors and the Lautus may not be a one stop solution to everything (as I'm sure you understand, but I just thought I'd mention it).

1.5m Yes I found better than 0.5m for digital.
I had 0.5/6m (cant remember) cusat but the 1.5m lautus I found better in every use analogue and digital Lautus - Yes - worth the small amount extra in my book, my tests proved this conclusively I upgraded all my linking cables from short Cusat to long Lautus thats 9 in total after only about 6 months of purchasing the 9 runs of Cusat I am actually doing something with the Lautus that could escalate it to the next level of performance. I wont know for a bit but will report back Edited by ellisdj - 05 Nov 2014 at 6:19pm |

In addition I have found the Lautus to be an outstanding SPDIF Cable.
A recent test I felt it bettered a much more expensive cable in my system - however that cable hadnt been used for several years so it might have taken a bit for it to be at its best. Either way in that test the Lautus proved its value and to be the better cable |

Sorry to disagree with the above. I borrowed both types of cable (RCA) from the loan scheme and compared the two. For short cables, such as from my squeezebox touch to my Majestic, I much preferred the CuSat 50. I can imagine that for longer lengths the shielded cable might be better. However, with lengths up to 1.5 m I personally would have the CuSat 50. Why don't you borrow the two cables on the loan scheme and tried to yourself?
