The Nissan car manufacturing plant in Sunderland is the most efficient in Europe.
Japanese manufacturing techniques with enlightened management methods that motivate and inspire rather than cajole. A northern English workforce showing that it can be the best in Europe when allowed to show its mettle. The old bully boy ways of British management were never going to succeed in a thousand years and they didn't. Edited by RichW - 04 Nov 2022 at 2:14am |

And them claiming the glory of the back room R&D boy, so when they screw up their company, and the R&D boy is out of work, and goes looking for work, the new would be boss says "who are you?" And the old boss gets a great job in that company, just long enough to make plenty of dough, before they realise they've been BS'd! And aren't some of the bully boys sat in parliament? Parliament in the U.K. is a joke.
I think it is a laughing stock. How many unelected PMs is that now?

Well technically, the vote of an individual in the UK counts only towards the election of an MP for the constituency in which they live. Whilst the expected leader of the party may well influence how people from other constituencies vote, whoever is Prime Minister was at least elected by the constituency that they personally represent, so they are not strictly unelected. Many people who vote only look at national politics rather than domestic politics. Consequently, the best candidate for a particular constituency may be overlooked.
Bottom line is we never vote for a Prime Minister. A PM is the by-product of whatever party or parties form a government, using elected MPs. (We vote for party, not leadership)

Maybe at the time of the general election, but the “leader” has changed several times, and I am pretty sure that the majority of people living in the U.K. would have preferred a general election.
