Do it yourself, and make your own conclusions. That's why there's a loaner system. The cost is shipping both ways, and you get to play with whatever you borrow for a fortnight. Contact John C by PM

Bitzie sounds superb with Lautus USB cable. Lautus powerwire with a wall PSU should improve it further. Leave it powered on for many hours and... wow.
The more important question is: Is your headphone or speaker good enough for the Bitzie?

I live on the coast south of you.
I have only tried HD650 and Momentum a long time ago and only briefly. Nothing impressive. Have not used any of the others.

Hi there, Mouse.
I fundamentally agree with deciding via the loan program. However, being a user of the other brand’s device as well as the Solo ULDE headphone amplifier, I prefer the digits from the DAC to be amplified by the Solo in my Focal Elear. This difference is not subtle. Indeed, the reason the new table top design from the other lot has max 18W output is because people weren’t happy with the little units as headphone amps. Ash is of the experienced and well considered opinion that the Bitzie and Solo sound pretty similar, and the Bitzie is a right proper headphone amp. Adding two plus two and hopefully coming out with four, I’d think the Bitzie will do a much better job of driving any of your headphones than the other unit alone. Of course, you’d need to enjoy what it does as a DAC, as well. I really like what the Mojo does for my laptop listening (I have a Majestic in my “proper” system), but I like it a whole lot more with the Solo in the driver’s seat. Better soundstage depth and width, richer colour, no congestion on dynamic swings, and zero loss of detail from the Mojo alone. Hence the loan recommendation. Good luck! Mick.
