I was just wondering about a phenomenon I've discovered in several of my records. That is in the silent grooves between tracks, at the end of these, I can sometimes hear the music that is on the following groove faintly. Is this a normal thing or might it be a symptom that something is perhaps awry in my calibrations?
Probably isn't anything bad but I thought I'd might as well ask if anyone recognises this. Smile

I hear this all the time on LPs, especially when the volume is turned up! Always thought it was due to some kind of bleed through on an analogue tape upstream of the disc, where a signal imprints slightly on the layer adjacent to it in the tape spool.

Correct, it's called "print through".
That none should be able to park up and enjoy the view without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps

Can you also get this from the groove wall being too thin, and the stylus in the inter track groove picking up the sound from one revolution in front?

I suppose it could be a possibility - the sound being a bit like having your head under water?

I'd always assumed it was in the LP groove but the tape print through makes more sense as the sound is almost full range when I have heard it. Thank you!
