Gentlemen

Thank you both for all your input into this topic.

I am very grateful for both your time and  your valuable insight.

A good friend has offered me an Apogee Duet which is surplus to requirements at a very competitive rate, so I am going down this route for the interface.

I have ordered an AT- Mono3/SP from Joynet. I currently use a re-tipped Stanton, but thought now would be the perfect time/excuse for an upgrade.

I have also ordered some Keith Monks discOvery Fluid for cleaning the 78s.

For the software I am going to try Audacity for input and then the audio restoration software from clickrepair.net.

Can’t wait to get started.
