Just a quick hello, coming back to vinyl after closing the door on my record collection many years ago.
So , I need a phono preamp and hence my search has brought me here. Not looking for the grail but would like to better appreciate the collection I've got. Looking forward to the search.... Brian from Basingstoke UK |

Hi Brian & welcome.
Quite a few people are returning to vinyl & their old record collections & there's never been a better time to do so with so many fine turntables, arms & cartridges around. There are one or two decent phono amps around too You've no doubt heard of the loan scheme to try out GSP equipment. Cheers. |

Another welcome from me, Brian!
You've come to the right place for good phono amps! What turntable and cartridge are you using?

Thanks both for your welcome.
a little bit embarrassing amongst this group but I have an original basic Origin Live turntable made from their kit and the modified RB250 arm and a DNM Mica cartridge. Maybe time to upgrade but I'll sort the phono first. |

Hi Brian and welcome.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the OL TT and arm you have and you're in the right place for a range of excellent phono stages. As Richard mentions above, you can see how good your set up sounds by trying a phono amp of your choice at home for a couple of weeks courtesy of the loan scheme. Just send Jon (aka Fatmangolf) a PM to get things moving, but bear in mind that he's away this week. Happy listening Ian
