Chris - That's exactly my point. In trying to be "individual" (like everyone else), all they do is copy everyone else. BMW 1 series, Fiat 500, Mini... How popular are they??
Graham - I worked hard to be the man in the crowd throughout my youth!

When I was around 20 years of age (1975), discussing hifi with a friend, I recall the idea we had of having each album on a plug-in "chip". We thought it would be much better quality than compact cassette and it wouldn't wear out. As with all the ideas I have discussed, my room must have been bugged
because every time some boffin comes up with the answer first - drat! ![]() The mem-stick can now be plugged into the mobile phone (android) and play via the BT link we made the other day to the SPDIF input of a Majestic Pre-DAC. I'm sure the sound is much better than that of our 1970's compact cassettes, but it doesn't sound high-fidelity to me. Wow, what progress these boffins have made in 40 years! (NOT) But it's acceptable to today's yoof and that's quite sad. What difference must there be between the 70s yoof and today's? Perhaps back then we ought to have been discussing how great it would be for a future yoof generation to be inspired in getting great sound from their music? Maybe that "room-bug" would have picked up on that thought and have made it happen today? Brian: You’re ALL sad! Crowd: Yes! We’re all sad! Solitary GSP customer: I’M not! The Crowd: Shhhh Edited by Graham Slee - 26 Jun 2015 at 9:27am |
