A fascinating development. Reminds me of the 3D wiring we used to use with real breadboard lash ups and tag strips before pcbs were generally available.
I'm pleased to see that it successfully copes with flac files.
This surely opens up the prospect of offering devices that should be more attractive to the new generation of music lovers that want to discover better sound quality.
Well done to graham and the team for persevering, despite the secrecy of the Bluetooth manufacturers society.

Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

Just make sure the bluetooth device can be easily replaced by the newer version in 6 months ;-) Or buy up all the stock. If you're not Apple or Sony or whoever these days it's a pain in the ****...

You just gave me a idea there JamesD... So as to "future proof" the new amp, could parts be made modular/upgradeable Graham? e.g. The bluetooth receiver could be removed for the next big cashcow that Apple/Samsung/etc come up with, or the speaker/headphone amp is the base then add on DAC, Phono Stage, etc... Yoofs are all about being "individual" nowadays ("bolt ons" for the current Mini springs to mind) so maybe upgradeable hifi could help lure them!

Hmmm..... I'm not sure about the cost effectiveness of such future-proofing. Certain other UK HiFi companies offer or have offered units with replaceable/upgradeable modules such as MM/MC stages, digital filters etc; but I really do wonder how many units were actually upgraded. In these cases it is often the case that other parts of the unit may be obsolete/out of date/out of fashion or superseded by newer units negating the benefit of upgrading.
How often do you find that the ability of things like TVs, DVD players and Multi channel amps/processors of different generations lose the ability to "talk" to each other as technology changes (I was going to say advances, but that isn't always true!)
Anticipating what will change and making provision for accommodating the changes will probably add cost which many will never benefit from.
Just my opinion, I may be wrong, I was once before...........
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

I was thinking about interesting the younger customer who isn't currently as interested in hifi as us. I personally wouldn't need to upgrade parts but then I would choose what I need from the start. Some may think a £2k amp is too expensive but after hearing the SQ may feel it's worth it. What if they got the same SQ at a portion of the price and less features?

The amp is already going to satisfy my needs; I'm just trying to think of ways for Graham to struggle to keep up with demand.
