After listening to Richard's suggestion of Amused To Death, I followed with a great Jeff Beck album 'Performing Live This Week'.
A series of live recordings of his virtuoso guitar playing with some of his best band members. A great album IMHO.

I have recently returned to my rock, heavy metal and symphonic metal beginnings from the late 2000s.

Iron Maiden older studio albums like Powerslave and Kamelot: Karma, Epica, The Black Halo and Ghost Opera. Still great stuff!

Today, the often ridiculed St Anger by Metallica. I have always felt that this album gets a lot of undeserved flak. Sure, it's no vintage Metallica, it doesn't have the beauty and awe of their '80s work. But its visceral rawness has a certain charm. And the double LP really shines with the Ortofon 2M Black (don't listen to the awfully compressed CD, please).

Listening to a lot of "The Jayhawks" lately. Underrated band. Rainy Day Music was today's album of choice . Also listening to "Gothic Road" by the late great Fife songwriter Jackie Leven.
