Today's pick is "You", the 1987 LP by Government Issue. My copy is an old U.S. pressing on Giant Records. GI started out as a DC-based hardcore punk band but gradually shifted to a more melodic sound not too far off from how The Damned and TSOL sounded at times. GI definitely had their own style though, and this is my favorite album of theirs.

SL-1200 MK7 (modified) + Reflex M + PSU-1 used with AT150-40ML, AT VM95ML, Stanton 680mkII + Ogura, and Shure M35X cartridges.

I got it first on CD too. The box set also comes with remix and live tracks records and the CD album too, why the CD I don't know. It comes in a nice presentation box and some artwork inside. At some point I'm going to get her music when she was in the " Go Go's" I have been meaning to for some time.

Ah yes, I have Vacation and Beauty and the Beat on vinyl, and Return To The Valley Of The GoGos (a compilation of early live tracks, B-sides etc) on CD, all worth having IMHO Jon.

I bought Beauty and the Beat on vinyl a few years ago for $3 out of the used bins. I was surprised how good it was. Same deal with the Bangles' debut LP "All Over the Place". Both worth rescuing from the used record bins.
