Bought this Hendrix box set, Songs For Groovy Chick's, of eBay as a 'new but damaged box'. It proved to be good description and a bargain compared to full price for the 8 album set. Getting through to final record now.
 It's a fantastic bit of history, a record of the Band of Gypses at their Filmore East New Year concert '69-'70. Excellent recording with lots of commentary from the band. A good addition !

I picked up Larry Young's "Unity" from a sale bin yesterday. I still need to give it another listen or two, but what impressed me most was Elvin Jones' drumming, especially later on in the album. I'm familiar with him and he's on other records I own but this was the first time I was truly listening to his output.

An eighties throwback, I am enjoying 'The Hounds of Love' as I write, heard through my 1970's active loudspeakers. It always impresses me.

After having two weeks off for Xmas (drinking far too much) I'm going to look into buying more music by the like's of Kraftwerk and Gary Numan (Xmas gifts) which has renewed my interest in electronic music.

Played this record yesterday and today. Nat Birchall's Ancient Africa LP. Really nice album, great sound. I'll have to pick up more stuff by him eventually.


Reflex M + PSU-1 used with AT150-40ML, AT VM95ML, Stanton 680mkII + Ogura, and Shure M35X cartridges.
