Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations for suppliers of Acrylic turntable dust covers made to custom sizes?

Regards

I've also been looking for a bespoke cover for some time. Best find so far is Trent Plastics, they have both eBay and direct shops. See: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Trent-Plastics/_i.html?_nkw=turntable
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

Hi Nigel

I found the following to be by far the cheapest and most flexible option when buying a cover for my OL turntable (which doesn't have a regular rectangular plinth)...

http://www.sora-shop.com/Customized-Products/Custom-Turntable-Cover.html?sCoreId=04da588233b656eaab1ccf65df1eb6b6

As you will see, you can specify any size that you want and with any cable cut-outs needed for arm cable, motor supply, etc. I'd also, from past experience, specify a cut-out on each side for picking the thing up.

As the cover is a flat-pack design, it's not quite as pretty as a purpose made cover as you can see the fixing screws (just), but does the job superbly at a fraction of the cost...oh, they were very good on customer service as well. They are German after all Big smile

Looks like good value. I wonder how the screwed construction would fare over time, as there would be some flexing each time the cover is lifted/removed. Perhaps there is an option to screw and glue the joints.
For the cost I'm more than tempted to give it a try.
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

I've had mine for over a year now and it's as good as new (apart from cat paw prints!). The acrylic is very rigid and there's no flexing whatsoever. I'd recommend it, especially if you don't have a t/t with a rectangular plinth

That's good to hear. From what I can see on the website the joints appear to be engineered, not just simple butt joints. As you pointed out they are German, so perhaps proper engineering should come as no surprise.
Just need to sort out the dimensions now., before ordering.
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.
