Good questions and I'd hate to think the Crosley users would poison the water supply after ruining their vinyl.

They still look sexy too (especially in black), having most definitely stood the test of time visually.

Oh, and remember, even though they are used in nightclubs and aspiring DJ's bedrooms, don't let that put you off as this deck was designed as an "audiophile" turntable from the outset.

Here is my Technics SL-1600MK2, purchased in 1980 and still playing strong.
It has everything adjustable; VTA, VTF, Anti-Skate, Cueing Height, and interchangeable head-shells.

I wish I was a millionaire, then maybe I could afford a new pair of 1200's.

Ooohh how did I miss this thread?!!!

As an erstwhile House club promoter and DJ who ran my own nites in Brighton in the late 80s and Shoreditch thru the 90s, every iteration of this clubbing legend has gone thru my hands. Its a club legend for a reason - that pitch control and it's indestructibility.

I'll let you into another secret: not one of those dozens has ever had a place in my home system. Not one. Never. Nada. Not even those 3 or 4 I tweaked to an inch of their lives.

Now, the new SL1200GAE? Well, that's more like it.
