I highly recommend the Technics 310MC cartridge for this deck. It was designed for a closely related model and the detail extraction from the boron tube cantilever is almost beyond belief. A good example costs about the same as a new Goldring 1042, and it’s a lightning bug vs lightning difference between the two (to my ears). Plays great with the Reflex C.

Btw, another great thing about these decks is that you can use a stack of records as an isolation base. Works great!

Here's my SL-6 (flimsier than the SL-7, but this one sounds lovely) on the easiest isolation base I've ever built. I'm on the eighth floor of an old building that has a major subway line running directly underneath it. This stack of records eliminated the rumble I was getting like magic. That said, if it hadn't been a problem to begin with I wouldn't have bothered.

Thanks Stephen. The prismatic rainbow looks very good, nice photo. It is interesting how the combination of records and cardboard can absorb the vibrations.
