David
I know that bloke in the link you posted as I'm a regular at his shop. He knows his stuff and is very good to talk too.
What you posted is all spot on, in the UK we have a saying "you hit the nail on the head" I couldn't agree with you more.

Had a look at the list for RSD 2022. WTF!!?
The Proclaimers - Sunshine On Leith £54.99
Absolute madness. I’ve seen two copies of this in the second hand shops on my travels this week alone.

Rick Astley - Whenever You Need Somebody
WT(actual)F? A monumental waste of plastic, card, paper, time and Abbey Road electricity. Yes, it’s been remastered at Abbey Road. You’d think they’d have better things to do.

This all backs up the “perceived” major label hijacking of this event.

L*nn LP12, Jelco 750D, AT440MLb / Technics 1200 MKII (Various Carts) / GS Gram Amp 2 SE / Audiolab and Arcam Amplification / Mission 752 Freedom / Dynaudio Audience 42

I think the Rick album was a dollar bin record here a few years ago, then he had a bit of a career comeback due to the whole "rickrolling" meme or whatever. I'm not trying to bash the guy's music or anything even though it's not what I'd typically listen to. That album sold A LOT of copies, even over here. No need for a reissue except to cash in. I wonder how many people buy that because they like it vs. being in on some kind of ironic joke?

The Proclaimers album I have seen far more often on CD over here. It's very common in used bins, or at least used to be. The price on that thing is ridiculous. Converted to USD that's around $74 which is more expensive than a 45rpm double LP from Analogue Productions.
SL-1200 MK7 (modified) + Reflex M + PSU-1 used with AT150-40ML, AT VM95ML, Stanton 680mkII + Ogura, and Shure M35X cartridges.

Well record store day passed me by I didn't even remember it, it was on Saturday. I remember reading what was coming out for it but nothing took my fancy. Anyone buy anything?

I was kinda interested in the Art Pepper release, and more so with regards to the Blur Bustin’ and Dronin’, but missed out at my local store. I’ve just double checked and the flipper prices on the Blur release aren’t obscene… But, still, there is the principle of the thing.

In the last couple of years the amount of dross shoved out for RSD I finally reached the point where I replied 'meh' when my wife pointed out it was RSD at the weekend.

I might browse the leftover buckets at Revo Records in HFX when I am next there or or the few in MCR.
