Hi, I am not very technical but I was in need of two sets of speaker wires. One set to feed an Stax RD7/PRO Energizer and the second to feed a pair of Canadian Clement 105di speakers. The Stax was bought used and was modified by a friend in Iceland, the Clement speakers were NOS from around 1996. Both of these are going to be deployed at work in my office and powered by a vintage Maranatz 2238B receiver from circa 1977-79.
Anyways I thought of buying the cables but I would have spent around $175 USD including S&H. Instead I went to Momoprice.com and Radio Shack and spent about $60 in parts. In about one hour I built the first set a 3 foot long pair to feed the Stax energizer, one end has banana plugs the other pins (goes on the Marantz). I am happy with the results although I still need to find some red heat shrink and remove a bit of the extra hot glue I used to seal the ends of cable as it enters the plugs. Here is a picture of the work.
