As we intend to offer DIY upgrades these photos show how to remove and replace a board assembly on one of our phono preamps...

(headphone amps next post)

It is important to use a new or not worn hex key (size 2mm AF) and make sure it's fully home before turning it anti-clockwise to remove these four rear panel screws. Use of a worn key or not using it properly can round out the hex sockets making it impossible to remove the screws without the help of a mechanic.

The board assembly simply slides out of the retaining grooves.

Reassembly, as they say, is the opposite of removal, but ensure the board slides into the slots as shown - both sides.

After replacing the screws, nip them up tightly using the hex key in its long position so as not to damage the screw heads.

Take care not to slip with the key or the panel could be scratched.

That none should be able to park up and enjoy the view without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps
