Hi,which cartridge you guys recomend to use whith my rpm5 and the era gold v?Here in argentina, theres not a lot of choices, basically an ortofon mc-x5 or a goldring g-1042 ,both new(i hope) an in a convinent price.other choice is to import a clearaudio virtuoso but,but this option is 4 times the price(350 to 1400).my point is which diferences you find in this cartridges, matching the era gold.i ve been using the mc-x5 for 6 month whith the era gold, but im not convinced. yesterday mi son killed de x5 so i need a new cartridge. any recomendation wil be welcomed!! so i hope you undertand my question, sorry about my english, im learning. thank you in advanced, i really enjoy the era gold v !!

Set up really well (VTA is important - ensure the arm is parallel with the record in play) the 1042 is a great performer with the Era Gold V, and even gets recommended by the guru status "The Cartridge Man", Len Gregory, when someone can't quite stretch to one of his handmade 1,000 GBP Music Maker cartridges. Price for the 1042 is around 150 GBP (British pounds). I think you'll like it.

I use an Audio-Technica AT150MLX moving magnet cartridge with my Pro-Ject RPM4 which is a model below the RPM5. I am very satisfied with the AT150MLX. It has 4 mV output, a MicroLine stylus and a gold-plated boron cantilever. The tracking performance is excellent and with the correct capacitance loading, the sound is neither bright or warm; just neutral. So my recommendation, just based on my own experience, would be the AT150MLX. Price is about $300 USD when ordered directly from Japan.
