When dealers advertise HSC products for sale on eBay or elsewhere described as New Old Stock does anyone know typically how old these items would be and whether there would be any issues compared with a "made to order " unit in terms of the quality , eg how often are the design and components improved.

When contemplating buying a New Old Stock item, if the dealer was prepared to confirm the serial number would HSC be able to confirm the manufacture date and whether the unit was obsolete in terms of current design and / or component quality.

Some of these New Old Stock offers appear attractive on the face of it but I am nervous of buying an already partially obsolete item.

If it sounds good, why worry?
