I noticed this picture of an amp on display at the Bristol hifi show (I didn't attend). I know nostalgia or 'vintage' may be liked by consumers but the use of valves for a numeric display must go back  50-60 years. I can  remember using a valve display electrolytic calculator in the early '70s but I'm sure such use is more like '50s technology.
Strange how consumer electronics looks back.

Indeed...interesting how 'difficult' it is to read - I don't see the date, but the valve shapes. Perhaps it's just me. I think if I'd become the owner, I'd be regretting it pretty soon afterwards!

Thanks for posting. I had hoped to get to the Bristol show this year, but in the end everything in my favour was against me. Perhaps better luck next year.
