It looks very interesting.
Another breakthrough or a flash in the pan - probably depends on media acceptance.
Good show Bob.Smile

As there is a thing called gravity, then it cannot be a sideways unipivot, because it has to have something else to overcome gravity, and that makes it plural, not uni.

uni- one; having or consisting of one.

I have no opinion on the product. That said I find the company owner quite distasteful as he engages in a lot of "stealth marketing" on various forums. At least he did in the last year or two. Many of his posts were just swooping into threads where people needed troubleshooting help and he started hawking tonearms.

FWIW the tonearm is made of carbon fiber tubing and likely will suffer from the shielding problems that have been mentioned here before that are common to non-metal tonearms.

It used to be explained that you must not run into Marks & Spencers shouting Woolworths, but today's types have no etiquette.

It's also called "butting-in" (interfering, messing, snooping, meddling in the affairs of others).

This whole social media thing is a problem. It's as if it's pre-ordained for bad behaviour - yes, developed for trolling.

Blogging - the keeping of a web-log, or diary, but one that's very public, is OK I guess. But, why comments? One blogger wrote a rather nice review of a Gram Amp, and straight away the first comment was to promote a Chinese made Cambridge phono stage. I mean, who would have the time to search the world wide web, looking for places to jump in like that?

We could extract the words "Chinese made" in that particular instance, but is there any evidence of that being the case?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50_Cent_Party - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50_Cent_Party

Perhaps my imagination is running away with me.

The current trend on a couple websites is to point people asking for gear advice to off-brand knockoff tube products on eBay and AliExpress. Best case they are harmless but poorly made (and poor sounding) products full of counterfeit parts. Worst case they are fire hazards.

FWIW I don't think all these people are bots or paid shills (though some may be), they are just the same type of people that want to own an expensive watch or handbag for status or fashion points. So they buy counterfeit goods and try to convince themselves and others that these fakes are "just as good" as the real thing, or "better than" some other completely different, but respectable product.

I think you are right Graham and David. Some people are shameless and have chips on their shoulders.

Sure, but there have been many novel tonearm designs over the years. Time will tell if this one lasts or goes extinct like so many others.

To me it is somewhat similar in concept to magnetic bearing tonearms that are held together with a piece of string or wire.

This one is held together with a string or wire also as can be seen on the maker's website. Without that triangle of string or wire the arm would come crashing down onto the platter and record.

It would be good to hear one and find out what changes in the sound. I can see why moving the hinge down may help but also it means the column can tilt, doesn't it?
