hello. Thanks for allowing me to join the forum. I have a Graham Slee solo headphone amplifier with the psu1. When I plug my headphones into it there is a squeaking type sound. A bit like squeezing  the top of a balloon. Sometimes there is a popping sound when I first turn on the amp and plug the headphones in.is this ok. Many thanks.

Try switching it on with headphones already connected - like an amplifier has the speakers connected.

The noise is the output adjusting from open-circuit to the load of the headphones.

hello. Tried that still a small squeak. It even does it if I plug in the phones with the amp off.

Sorry for that. Is it OK when it's playing?

hi. Yes it’s dead silent in the background when playing. A beautiful headphone amp.

I am really grateful for your kind comment, and for you taking my earlier, perhaps disrespectful jibe, in good spirit Embarrassed

That’s ok. So there is no way the headphones can be damaged, is that right.

I can only answer with another question. Have you played the explosion tracks from a couple of Pink Floyd - Roger Waters records/CDs?

1. Get Your Filthy Hands Of My Desert - Final Cut
2. Late Home Tonight - Amused to Death

or even The Alan Parsons Project - Tales Of Mystery And Imagination - the very long and loud sections?

If it is as loud as these will go but not as long, then I think it will be OK.
