Hi all, I've just joined up to what looks like a great forum and have just joined. I'm looking for a phono stage for my turntable and came across Graham Slee. I like the look of your phono stages and would be interested in anything you may suggest. I have a Nottingham Analogue Ace Spacedeck turntable with an Ace Spacedeck arm. I'm using an Audio Note MM IQ2 cartridge. I was looking at the Graham Amp 2 SE or Era Gold V....any comments? Thanks

Hello again, Thought I'd give a bit more background. I've never had a separate phono stage before and it's something which is new to me. I'm using the onboard Quad 34 phono stage at the moment. I'd be grateful for any advice. Thank you..

| Thanks for that, Ifor. They certainly both look like great phono stages and you obviously think that they'd give the best result. I have to say, I did consider the Reflex M. I do love my turntable set up, and even through the onboard phono stage on the Quad 34 it sounds lovely. If I'm able to home loan that would be really good. Is the home loan system still operating at the moment? Thanks again. Tony |

I will just second the Accession recommendation. I had an ERA V Gold for 7 years and loved it but just upgraded to an Accession MM. | Thanks Keith, that's really helpful to hear. My upgrade to a Nottingham Analogue Ace Spacedeck was a massive step for me and the phono stage choice is part of that. I see that you are running a valve amp but you've not opted for a valve phono stage, like the Audion or similar....the Accession is much different? Thanks again. Tony |

Hi Tony. I like my valve amp a lot but perhaps a valve phono stage would be a step too far. Not tried one to be honest. I have become a big fan of Graham Slee design philosophy and it does it for me. I've had the Accession for just over a week so about half way through burn-in. You will have noted on the website a lot of discussion about burn-in. With more time at home I've been re-ripping some of my record collection, replacing Elevator and Revelation M rips with AccMC recordings into the same ADC recorder and I'm hearing more of the music. The Accession is more money but I think it is a big step up if you want to take it. ------------- Jon Open mind and ears whilst owning GSP Genera, Accession M, Accession MC, Elevator EXP, Solo ULDE, Proprius amps, Cusat50 cables, Lautus digital cable, Spatia cables and links, and a Majestic DAC. |
