Hi,

I have a PSU1-24 (120V 60Hz 120 mA) and I've lost the mains cord - what do I need for a replacement? And where can I get it? (U.S)

I have a couple cords from different products that look like they'll fit and have 10A 125V imprinted on the plug - will they work?

Thanks in advance,

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

If they'll fit they're OK.

All is well that ends well, specially at no additional cost. Wink

Hi,

I have a similar question this time about the Voyager - can a different mains adapter be used other than the one supplied? E.g. the one that powers my laptop is 19v 3.16A output, can it be safely used?

Thanks
Julian

You need 24 vdc.

From website specs -

Quote Power sources: Battery, 9V (MN1604; 6LR61), USB 5V via "mini-B" (internal analogue voltage conversion to 9VDC), AC/DC mains adapter 12-24V DC, (polarity protection on each)

Perhaps Graham will enlarge on the last aspect.

Will do tg,

24V DC is the maximum DC voltage before the in-built regulator will start getting distressed.

If the 19V DC power supply is unregulated it means its voltage will rise off-load. Now, the load of the Voyager is no where as big as the load of a laptop so the voltage could rise too high. As usual it is best to know if the voltage is higher off-load and the only way is to measure it with a multi-meter. If it stays at 19V (plus or minus a fraction) then it will be OK. It will also mean that the supply is a regulated supply.
