When measuring voltages around a circuit you may get some illogical results... Why?

All multimeters have an input resistance when measuring on the voltage ranges.

This input resistance appears in parallel with the resistance of the part of the circuit you are measuring.

If the circuit resistance is high the meter input resistance may be low enough to drag the voltage down.

Hence the illogical measurement.
