that I recieved my Solo. It came nicely packaged and safe. It's a beauty and very solidly built. Unfortunately I'm going to have to sit and stare at it all night long before I can even plug it in. I've even entertained crawling in bed and putting it under the covers with me  to warm it up Big%20smile.

Thank you Graham and John,  I can't wait until I can hook this lil beast up.

Enjoy, I know I'm going to be first thing in the morning.

Ok, I'm trying to let this become room temp, any ideas on how cold is to cold? It's been fairly cold here the past 2 days, think the over night low this moning was 16F with a high of 30 F today. Any thoughts?

As far as electronics are concerned - colder is better, as the electrons move more freely around in cold mediums and therefore run more effiecently. As far as sound quality, I don't know, but I've had my Solo on since tuesday running a source, as it's still quite cold to the touch whereas my room is quite comfortably warm.

I was more worried about condensation build up. Wind chills had been down in single digits at night, then being in a truck all day. I finally gave up after waiting 4 hours when the case seemed not to change much. I keep my house realitively cool Big%20smile, like about 65 in the winter, in the summer i kkep it realitivley hot 80. Better to prepare one self for when they venture out to the elements. Indeed, the Solo does not generate any heat.

Woohoo!
Received my Green Solo today! Just as well packaged as the Reflex, thanks guys!
No. 0110-004 for those that are curious.
I too will run it in for a few weeks before I make any appraisal.
Cheers,
Jake

Actually, I cant wait weeks. This thing is outrageously good. I was in two minds about buying a headphone amp as I dont use them much, even though I do have a pair of AKG701s. But I thought I may as well as the Reflex is such a fine device.

Anyhoo, I am amazed at the clarity, bass extension, and most surprisingly the depth of soundstage. I never expected a headphone to provide such a soundstage.

My previous headphone amp is a chinese brand, and very inexpensive. It performs politely but without any special abilities, so the Solo is something of a revelation I must say.

Will report back again in a few weeks....if I can wait that long....Big%20smile

Cheers,
Jake

Good luck waiting that long Jake Wink. I was leary of giving impressions so soon myself, but I was so amazed with the sound I couldn't stop myself. It even had me questioning my ears.

 Enjoy
