Next week I get a Denon AH-D7000 for one or two weeks for test - I am very snoopy to compare it with AKG K701 and K702
I hope it works well with my green Solo

The Denon AH-D7000 are in the house now
A short report .... driven by green Solo (potentiometer 8..9 h)
Very
good, noble building and design, cable spiteful, loose contact to the
head, closed design but poor damping for noises outside, noble case, ...
Hearing
with PF, Final Cut, CD / Mussorgsky, Picture of a Exhibition, SACD /
Eva Cassidy, Live At Blues Alley, CD / Marianne Faithful, Blazing Away,
CD
Final Cut Treble - very good, more corpus Bass - deep, more pressure, sometimes a very little bit booming
Picture of a Exhibition very impressing, express the deep and the darkness
Live At Blues Alley + Blazing Away Bass - deep, more pressure, sometimes a very little bit booming
I cannot say if the sometimes very little bit booming bass a lapse of the headphone or from the sound board operator.
With the AKG K701/702 this are not so in evidence.
More coming during X-Mas holiday

I have the D7000 and I believe its much better in SQ than K701. Not in the same class. D7000 have an incredible sound stage and a rich texture that is better than most dynamic headphones.

Yesterday I got the Novo test sample an I spend 4 ... 5 hours to test them.
"players list" - Novo, green Solo, Denon AH-D7000, AKG K702, K271 MKII, Sennheiser HD 600, Marantz SA7001 KI
AKG K271 MKII vs. K271 - they are cardinally similar (both are closed) as the K702. In some music passages the K272 run close to the D7000 - but the D7000 is a class upper.
The D7000 makes more pressure in bass as the open K702 or HD600
K702 in bass slimmer and brighter over all frequencies
The HD600 are between the D7000 and K702.
I use mostly the Novo HA, compare to Solo I cannot find replicable differences. Sometimes I had the feeling Solo express the highs better, but if I cannot reproduce (cannot catch) it. Both running parallel, so I could switch between in short time.
First short review Music: Eneda Martha, Lope Kai Marianne Fathful, Blazing Away Anton Vivaldi, Four Seasons, Elena Denisova, Gustaf Mahler Esamble, Vienna Kari Bremnes, Erindring
Roger Waters, Amused to Death, Three Whishes D7000 more bass, deeper in bass-area, brass more "velvet", more "silky" AKG's brass are more brazen.
Telarc SACD Sampler 3, Jazz with Novo + Denon AH-D7000 "a poem for music"
Kodo, Prism Rhythm, SACD, Sony JP, track 4, 5, 6 with Novo + Denon AH-D7000 perfect
Would be continued .....

..... the show must go on .....
a new dream pair was born - Novo and Denon AH-D7000 the money that you save with Novo you can spent to a good headphone like the Denon AH-D7000
Hubert von Goisern, Ausland, CD Roger Waters, The Wall, live in Berlin, SACD both are live concerts, the sound are very authentic, not spectacular, no prefer of some frequencies, with two words "that's live"
Dimitri Schostakowitsch, Symphonie No. 8, Concertgebouw Orchestra, Haitink, CD 3. movement, very deep and dark - only visit the concert could be better
Camille Saint-Saens, Symphonie No. 3 "Orgelsymphonie", Dukas: Der Zauberlehrling, Preston, Berlin PO, Levine, CD 4. movement, the organ comes with pressure
Frederic Chopin, piano concert No. 1 & 2, Lang Lang Piano, Wiener Philharmoniker Orchester, Zubin Mehta, CD I am very relaxed as hearing this music :-)
30 Years' Fidelity, CD, Label: Kirkelig Kulturverksted looks at the musician's are visit me in my lounge
The booming impression at beginning of the test completely vanished!!!!

Archi Shepp, Jasper Van't Hof , Mama Rose Track 1 Contracts Realistic, first bank before stage, tenor saxofon truthful Track 2 Mama Rose, Track 3 People Background of liveconcert are herable
Jeton Reference Track 2 Charly Antolini, Endless live feeling, deep bass of drum appreciable Track 4 Sicurriada, ICHU Track 7 Ray Brown, Moonlight Serenade Track 9 Chris Barber + Band, Snag it .... close the eyes, enjoy und forget the ambit ....
Misa Criolla, Jose Carreras / Philips Misa Criolla, Mercedes Sosa / Decca both are very authentical, drums very mightful

Why the SRGII? For the same price you can upgrade to the Ultra-Linear.
You will not be disappointed!

I believe the post above was before the UltraLinear, plus you may want to read on impedance matching. Cheers.

Apologies Miguel - I had to do a double-take looking at your previous post, before I realised it was almost exactly one year old to the day!
I didn't know there were any differences in impedence ranges between the SRGII and UL though. Looking at their respective specs, they both quote a headphone impedance range of 16 to 600 Ohms preferred; 8 to 2,000 Ohms acceptable. Input impedance for the UL: 37k Ohms at max volume; 50k Ohms at min volume; but I cannot see a comparable stat in the SRGII's spec.

Hi, which HA are better for low impedance headphones AKG 63 OHM or Denon 25 OHM?
My current headphones: AKG Q701, K701, K501, K271 MKII, Denon AH-D7000
Mostly I use my self modded "green" Solo with a metal can LME49720HA as OP.
Have green Solo an output impedance of 33OHM?

Hello everybody ,
Booming is a very common finding for a d7000 lacking enough burn-in, I've by now my d7000 kept running for over 300 hours, and I can tell you I shared the same finding with many d7000 users half a month ago, but now the bass from mine is just awesome with the solo ul ! And I foresee it to become even better!
I hesitated when I made my decision to buy it because it is made in ** (* here to protect myself from being censored somewhere in the future ), a place I respect not for making such things , but you must listen to believe !!
lapkwan.
