Getting impatient with the burn in time for equipment, I revisited the common sense guidelines to improve the sound/reduce noise. Now I consider myself reasonably agile...however I am still prone to procrastination. And usually when I get new equipment, instead of re-architecting, I simply add them to the mix. And thus I have the usual jumble of cables. Following the guidelines to distance the PSU-1 units, I re-arranged a few components.

After reasonable improvements, I sat back to listen. After 12 mins of listening <thud> and all went quiet. On inspection I found the big power adapter of the turntable falling off the wall outlet. It was just too bulky to hang on its own and was finding the concept of gravity very attractive.

And thus I moved the power adapter for the turntable and the digital recorder to a different power strip. 

And lo and behold...the dynamic changed drastically. The noise has gone...away. 

So right now I have the turntable set on top of a sturdy entertainment center, the recorder in the cabinet below. The power strip for both on the ground.

The Accession, Elevator both are on a different wall. The turntable interconnect cable connects between the entertainment center and the wall. Same for the other interconnects. And all power cables from the Graham Slee products cross the interconnects at a 90 degree angle. Both PSU are plugged to a wall outlet.

Of course all this must be common sense to many of you. Hence I am wondering if there are any other common sense tips and techniques on arranging equipment?
