Glenn Frey, member of The Eagles, has passed away today at the age of 67.
I hesitate to wish Glenn peace, (in the phrasing of the song that is) as I've read somewhere he didn't much care for that particular one. So just the simple; Rest in Peace Glenn.
This year, short as of yet, has already seen several obituaries for legends of music and the arts. I pray for respite and good health all around for its remainder.

What bugs me is the ages they're going at. Makes us 60 something's feel a bit uncomfortable.

There are many environmental factors and life choices that influence length of lifespan although I believe that there is a significant genetic aspect to it too, as there is with cancers IMO. Oncogenes and predisposition to certain disease states etc. Then there's the whole "telomeres" length shortening theory and its consequence on progression of ageing. There is only so much you can do with the cards (genes) you're dealt so be sure to make your life a good one. Enjoy the music; that's a good place to start.

Yes. I think it's basically a case of having been a Rock musician (in the 70s and overlapping years especially) not being very good for you in the long run. And now it's finally catching up, sadly. I fear this section hangs like a sword of Damocles over our collective music collections.

Well I drank a lot. My teenage pals seemed to be into LSD and canabis and they're probably more healthy than me!

| Yes, you're not the only one! But the only drugs I've done are antibiotics. Aussie Reds and Guinness though . . . Must be many gallons of each over the years . .

There's also the plain statistics that out of the hundreds or so famous musicians that one knows or even love, statistically speaking a few of them are bound to go before their time when they're still fairly youngish. Just like with everybody else, some will be less fortunate and get ill whilst still in their 60s, most won't however. I secretly suspect that the baby boomer generation will outlive all the rest of us just from sheer doggedness

Maybe Chuck who is famous for being 'careful' with money didn't buy enough D&D..
