I have measured the TT-PSU lead that was supplied with my original RP6 (2012) and it is 2m. £20 seems a fair price.

(The connectors are Kycon-DIN - I purchased 3 of these from ebay for John Cadman to make the double turntable TT-PSU switch box)

Thanks Andrew
It just seems funny to sell a 2m lead if it already comes with a 2m lead.
Also I have read on another forum that it came with a short lead.
May be if you buy the psu as an upgrade it only comes with a short lead.
Cheers

The 2 metre lead could possible be an extension to give you a 4 metre cable.
It states it is power din to power din.

Both leads have male connectors on both ends so would require a female-female Kycon adaptor (if such exists)

So why would Rega sell or any body buy a cable that wont fit.
Think I will give up on this.

I bought my TTPSU as an upgrade and it was supplied with a 350ma wallwart and a 2metre male din to male din plug to connect from the TTPSU to the turntable.

When using the TTPSU the 24v circular power socket on the turntable is NOT used and should not be connected.  The power should go from the wall to the TTPSU from the heavier wallwart supplied with it and then from the TTPSU to the turntable via the din cable.

It would appear the listed cable is the standard one, I know of none shorter and cannot imagine why Rega would bother to make more than one length.

Not sure I understand what the issue is here.

Dave suggested he needs a longer power DIN lead between TT-PSU and turntable. As far as Tony and I are aware, Rega only make one length, ie 2m which is sold both with the TT-PSU and as an aftermarket product.

The comment "So why would Rega sell or anybody buy a cable that wont fit?" seems to be the issue.

It does - it fits the TT-PSU at one end & the turntable at the other but you cannot join two of these as they are. My previous posting explained that you could only do this with an adaptor but I doubt that exists (because they are not designed to be used this way).

It would be a relatively simple job to make a longer lead with two male Kycon connectors and a length of appropriate 4 core cable. When John Cadman worked on the bespoke switch box for me he confirmed that all pin connections are straight through at both ends.

Hi Andrew
I have sent an e-mail to a rega dealer asking how long the cable supplied is.
If the supplied cable is 2metres long why would rega make a 2metre accessory cable.
QUOTE
TT-PSU DIN LEAD 2M
Designed to allow the position of your TT-PSU to sit further away from the turntable if desired.
You would only wont to buy the accessory 2m cable if you had lost the supplied one not to position the psu further away, as you would not be able to do so.

Received a reply from the dealer, the supplied cable is 1.2metres.

It appears the cable supplied with the psu now is only 1.2metres long, so this why rega now make a 2metre cable if you need to place the psu further away from the turntable than 1.2metres.

There is not an issue I just wonted to know the supplied cable length and now I do.

Cheers

Fair enough, good result then.

Surprised me, so we live and sometimes I learn.

BTW I did think the TTPSU a worthwhile improvement, it also allowed me to fit a dual 33 pulley and two drive belts.

Good to know it makes a worthwhile improvement Tony.
My be they shortened the cable to make a little more profit, then this allowed them to make a 2metre cable for anybody who needed the longer one, and make a little more profit.
Or am I being scynycoule.
Cheers
