The crashed Morris Minor car photo was so aptly implemented by Andrew haha. Like a train going off the rails...  Just watched the Poland performance. The woman at the front had a nice rack, uhhh you know, the one she was cleaning with... I liked the accordion and violin interlude; had a French flair to it. The singing was annoying to start with but grew somewhat bearable after aforementioned interlude. Am I the only one sad enough to recognise the headphone model used as a DT770?? |

Yeah, nice bit of Photoshopping on the colour  In all seriousness, there is the occasional gem of a song that appears. But the appeal to me (and my 15 yr old son too) is the mix of kitsch, politics (are Ukraine going to give Russia douze points, again), dodgy wardrobe spotting (from the broadcasters reps giving the country scores especially), lavish staging (every broadcaster must hope their act won't win it so they don't have to blow 90% of their total budget next year to stage it), and general ludicrousness that makes for a good night's entertainment every year. Aside from the Scandi dramas on BBC4, it's the only Saturday night TV worth watching the whole year. Plus there's always a hope that some of the European Broadcasting Union's more distant members might take part one day - Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco. Thanks for sharing morris_minor, especially the Poland one... I couldn't listen to the videos as I'm out at the moment but I gave up on Eurovision many years ago (Katrina & the Waves - Love Shine a Light anyone?).
