I received my Voyager today (Thanks Graham, UPS, and my unnamed financial supporters!). I should preface this by saying that my usual full-size 'phones are Stax 4040 Signatures fed by a Denon DVD-2900 universal player (Usually SACDs). At this point in time, with less than 4 hours of 'burn-in' - the Voyager has already bested the stock IPod Nano output on Bach's Invention Nr. 8 (Gould) in delineating individual notes on the more complex passages.

I've tried it out with a Senn HD280 Pro, Grado SR-60, and Ety 6is through a Crossroads silver litz line-out cable. The Grados provided the best result *by far*. I am constantly amazed at their versatility and musicality - their 'sound-for-pound' quotient is astounding. The Senns are relatively new and the combination lacks both air and incisiveness, sounding stodgy and flat-footed when compared with the Grados. The Er6is don't seem to be able to differentiate much between the Voyager and the stock output at this stage, but the results with the Grados make me anticipate the outcome of 3 more 9V batteries worth of 'burn-in' all the more keenly!

In anticipation of being flamed for mentioning the Staxs (Staxes?), I'll add that the 'burn-in' is being accomplished by looping a combination of B-grade soundtracks, Journey, Russell Watson, and the Carpenters!

Andrew, once the Voyager reaches 300-400 hours of burn-in feed it using your Denon DVD-2900 with your dyanamic headphones. I think you will be very pleasently surprised.
