I know Hifi World is not always the House's magazine of choice but I notice some sad news in the latest issue of the magazine.
Tony Bolton was the resident 'Vinylista' , favorable GSP reviewer and user who was recently diagnosed with and suddenly died with cancer. A real vinyl lover who would, in his reviews, play 1930's Jazz followed by some unheard of Electronica that should only heard of by kids.
I think he used a Jazz Club for a while and did a positive review of a Pre Ultra Linear Revelation.

Many years ago, Tony insisted on coming to visit us at the Bungallow (Monks Way). We were a bit skint at the time, but made dinner stretch further to accommodate our guest. He had travelled all the way from the south coast in his little old "beat-up" Vauxhall Nova, just to see us. There are not many honest people in the reviewing of high fidelity audio IMO, but I count(ed) Tony as being one of possibly three or maybe four who are(were) trustworthy. The "Electronica" Steve refers to, was one of his likes, and he told us he went "clubbing" with the youngsters, which he thought fun. Such a likeable fellow, and although we had not talked in many a year, knowing he isn't there anymore leaves a hole which can never be filled.

Very sad news. He had great enthusiasm for vinyl & was always one of the better HiFi writers.
