The Bitzie USB DAC's Driverless USB Integration lets you Plug'n'Play music from your on the go (OTG) android device.
When we launched the Bitzie USB DAC at the start of 2013 we tried it with the Samsung Galaxy S3 running Jellybean which worked straight away!
Since then more android phones have come on the market. The Samsung Galaxy S4 works too! We tried three of them.
But what about the more 'lowly' android phones such as the EE/Huawei Kestrel? We decided to try mine. I'd just renewed my phone from EE after a number of years, but didn't expect it to do much other than being a phone, web browser and so on. It has an industry standard USB data/charger socket that looks like that on the Samsungs. Using an OTG aftermarket cable connected via a Lautus USB cable to the Bitzie USB DAC, the first sounds heard were "system" sounds, so the next step was to install a music player app on the phone. We found the free version of WinAmp and used that. The video demonstrates it works!
So you can hear it we connected the Bitzie USB DAC's S/PDIF outputs to the Majestic pre-DAC on our system, instead of trying to mic the headphones. Apologies for the hand held video quality.

A quick update:
The EE Kestrel is the rebranded Huawei Ascend G6
It is a 4G smartphone
It is the cheapest 4G phone in the UK at £100
And it is Bitzie USB DAC plug'n'play ready.

This has certainly captured my interest. I actually went out of my way to find and research Android phones that would work with my Bitzie so this is welcome news, especially as my S3 won't last forever and its manufacture has been discontinued.
