Hi everybody!
In these days I am making some selection in my inherited records collection. My father had many excellent discs... but sometimes he was "overcollecting", gathering double copies of his favourite LPs. To save space and cash some money, I am getting rid of those I am not interested in or which are doubles. I will list them here in case someone is interested. Bear in mind that some of them are old and they would certainly benefit some washing (me, I'm just wiping the dust with a carbon fiber brush for now).
Here are the first titles:
Lionel Hampton - S/T - Fontana (just 4 tracks but EXCELLENT sound quality and performance) Count Basie - Super Chief - CBS John Hammond Collection (1972) (2 LP) (good condition) Charlie Christian - Solo Flight - CBS John Hammond Collection (1972) (2 LP) (OK condition) Frank Sinatra - The Best Of 3 - Capitol Emi (good condition) Frank Sinatra - The Best Of 4 - Capitol Emi (good condition) Frank Sinatra - Sings Rodgers and Hart - Emi (1975) (good condition) Frank Sinatra and His Greatest Hits - Reprise (1975) Nelson Riddle - The Great Gatsby soundtrack - Paramount (1974) Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald - Pete Kelly's Blues - Decca (circa 1955) (ok condition)
In the next days I will post more... In case you are interested and live in Europe, drop me a line!

Some titles added today:
Benny Goodman - Trio & Quartet 1935-1936 - RCA Italy (very good condition) Benny Goodman - The Benny Goodman Story - Mca Coral (1964) (2LP) (good condition, just one tiny scratch; sounds very mono to me, so when played in stereo it sounds weird with good performance in the left channel and surface noise in the right one: I have tried two copies, and they behave identically) Benny Goodman - Greatest Hits - EMI Italy (good condition) Louis Armstrong - Greatest Hits - CBS Italy (good condition) Benny Goodman - Big City Swing - Decca (good condition, fantastic pressing performance and sound-wise)

You have some interesting records here Luca! How much are you selling these for, and how much for shipping?

Actually not made my mind yet... so I am evaluating any offer before bringing them to my local record store. I don't
plan to sell them for too high, though, they are not rare editions or mint.
Shipping to UK from Italy has different options... The cheapest is probably posta raccomandata, which is slow but registered:
100-250 grams: 8.50 EUR 250-350 grams: 9.50 EUR 350-1000 grams: 13 EUR 1000-2000 grams: 19 EUR
For higher weigths, I have to use Paccocelere Internazionale, which costs 33 EUR up to 3 Kgs or 43 EUR from 3 to 5 Kgs.

Gershwin Classics 1898-1937 - Philips (3 LP) Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue/An American in Paris - Leonard Bernstein - CBS Masterworks (I had three copies of this one!!!!!) The Columbia Album of Sigmund Romberg - Paul Weston - Columbia (2 LP) Sydney Bechet - Jazz Classics Vol. 1 - Blue Note Sydney Bechet - Jazz Classics Vol. 2 - Blue Note Teddy Wilson - S/T - CBS (2 LP) Louis Armstrong - What a wonderful world - ABC/CBS
Adding some classical too... which isn't my cup of tea: while for jazz I'm just getting rid of double copies, for classical almost everything goes away.
Berlioz - Requiem - Leonard Bernstein - CBS Masterworks (2 LP boxset) Verdi - Requiem - Toscanini Edition NBC Symphony Orchestra - RCA (2 LP boxset) Verdi - Requiem - Leonard Bernstein London Symphony Orchestra - CBS (2 LP boxset) Verdi - Requiem - Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra/Fritz Reiner - KVS (2 LP boxset) Verdi - Requiem - Herbert Von Karajan Berliner Philarmoniker - Deutsche Grammophon (2 LP boxset ) Rossini - Complete Overtures - Neville Marriner - Philips (3 LP boxset) (excellent pressing, this is a double and I am keeping my copy because it's a great collection) Bach - Mass in B Minor - Otto Klemperer New Philarmonia Orchestra/BBC Chorus - EMI UK (3 LP boxset) Copland - Appalachian Spring / Barber - Adagio for strings / Bernstein - Candide ouverture / Schuman: American Festival overture - Leonard Bernstein and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra - Deutsche Grammophon Berlioz - Te Deum - Claudio Abbado and London Symphony Chorus - Deutsche Grammophon Bruckner/Verdi - Te Deum - Martin Stephani - Telefunken Lehar- Die Lustige Witwe - Robert Stolz - Decca (2 LP) Liszt/Brahms - Hungarian dances - Herbert Von Karajan - Deutsche Grammophon
All in this post are in very good conditions, some almost mint

Yes, that might be done! Just bear in mind that registered shipping to UK is 13 EUR and non-registered is 10. That's for weights up to 1 Kg.
If it's worth it (sadly the shipping is comparable to the value of the records...) please send me a PM!

Presumably the 3 LPs weigh in at less than 1kg?

Yes, with packing it's about 500-600 g. So there is still room for at least one more record.

Oh, never mind!
Probably in future I will have to thin my father's collection a little bit more (there are so many records of classic jazz which after a while tend to sound all a bit the same to me...)!

Some new additions!
A study in frustration - The Fletcher Henderson Story - 4 LPs (not the boxset) - original 1961 UK CBS pressing - conditions of the records: VG+, sleeves: VG (some yellowing) - 40 EUR
Lester Young - The Aladdin Sessions - double gatefold LP - 1975 Blue Note re-issue Italian pressing - records: EX, sleeve: VG - 10 EUR
The King Cole Trio with Lester Young and Red Callender - Score (1958 US pressing) - record: G (some marks, and evident surface noise when played in stereo, although it plays fine with a mono switch and probably even better with a true mono cartridge), sleeve: VG for its age (yellowing); no inner sleeve (probably wasn't there originally), so I stored it in a Nagaoka 102. 10 EUR (should be an uncommon record)
Shipping to Europe should be 13 Eur for up to 1 Kg (approximately 2 records, or 1 record plus a double), and 19 Eur for up to 2 Kgs (up to 6 records approximately)

Adding 4 Lester Young sealed LPs:
PRES vol I-II-III-IV - Pablo Records US pressing 1980-1981
All four are recorded from the performance at Olivia Davis Patio Lounge in Washington, 1956.
As I said, all of them are shrinkwrapped, but there is some corner wear where the wrap tore off, and one corner has a small sticker of the record store. But overall, great conditions!
10 Eur each, 30 Eur for all four of them
