Hi, my Revox B790 needs a higher compliance, but today I use an older (about 15 .. 20 years) Ortophon MC 10 MKII with additional weight - the Revox arm is very short and lightwight. So not all cartrige are recommand. I want to install a new cartridge + another cable (?) + a phono preamp. Which cartridge are recommand? MC or MM? One of my dealer says Goldring G1012 / G1022 / G1042 Revox is an special game  but I love this turntable  ------------- AKG K812, K872, K712, Q701, K701, K501, K550, K271, Denon AH-D 7000 "Green" SOLO (with LME49860NA), WNA MKII Marantz SA7001 KI, Philips CD650 Revox B790, G1042, Reflex |

| The 1042 is a Warmer MM than some of the newer ones. I have the Reson Reca which is a version of the 1042 with different profile which makes it a smoother and more detailed than the 1042 but as a consequance more expensive. |

I contact some dealers here in Vienna - I think I will buy a G1042. Have I this seen right - the 1042 have no build in thread, but Reson Reca have a build in thread. Hi FritzS, The Reson has a different body which I believe is made of metal rather than plastic, and I suppose they have threaded the holes? I wouldn't see the lack of threads as being a problem in use - few cartridges have them. ------------- That none should be able to park up and enjoy the view without a smartphone and the knowledge in how to use apps |
