I'm thinking maybe it's time to change the lube oil on my turntable and I'm wondering if there's any justification at all for paying £20 just for an absolutely tiny flask of Pro-Ject brand oil? I don't mind paying for quality and I don't want to jeopordize the well being of my bearings but I also don't like being fooled and shaken down.

There's a brand in the UK called 3-in-1. Never had a problem using it on turntable or arm bearings. It can be bought from motor spares shops, cycle shops, supermarkets etc. I'd reckon it would be around £1.
