Graham is it possible when I place the Solo UL order with my dealer to request no 2012 jubilee logo on the front and just the old style front? After all it does then make it hard to say you had had it for ages with 2012 in your face! Thanks

Hate to be a party pooper but I think the colourful additions look a bit out of place against the understated elegance of the fascia.

Thanks Graham, not sure if that is a no then! I really want one of these but without the new wording. Is it an option I can order? Now if it said diamond edition/standard in black like the other wording that would be more discrete and still give a distinction to previous versions! Sorry not trying to rain on your parade.

I think what Graham is saying is a no. Wink

But surely the solution is both simple and cheap. Get a sheet of this stuff: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adhesive-Brushed-Aluminium-Effect-making/dp/B0075TP8UG" rel="nofollow - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adhesive-Brushed-Aluminium-Effect-making/dp/B0075TP8UG . Cut out a couple of strips to cover the offending wording and away you go, SWMBO will be none the wiser! Big smile

Or I wait 12 months till the jubilee year is over and we can have the clean look again!

Oh, don't be a cheapskate! Why wait 12 months or longer for the sake of £2.99 + £1.30 p&p? LOL

It is not the cost of adding the sheet of stuff, just don't see the point of adding something, when the original was good. And someone else has agreed they do not like the addition of the blue lettering. In addition not everyone will be that bothered about the queens jubilee (now I have gone and done it!)

My suggestion was not intended as anything more than a tongue-in-cheek compromise to resolve your dilemma. I rather got the impression this was to disguise your intended new purchase as an item you had already possessed for some time, in order to avoid awkward explanations and potential strife.

Assuming that is still the case, you basically have three options:

1) Bite the bullet, get the 2012 edition and stand your ground if confronted

2) If you are not worried about the extra -14dB noise reduction, get an old stock or S/H UL

3) Wait until next year or beyond, until such time as the Jubilee edition is superseded by a new model which also happens not to have any coloured text

Oh, here's another - just thought of this one - you get the Jubilee edition and I'll be happy to do a swap with you for my immaculate, fully burned-in, Solo UL upgrade with original fascia.

Smile

Hotmog, I understand there was tongue in cheek, but did still felt too much text colourefx etc does distract from the clean lines and uncluttered look of the current face.
I also appreciate your generous offer of a swap, but feel that I will have to decline your pride and joy, that would just not be cricket. ;-)
At the end of the day this is Graham's stuff and I know he will choose what he wants, I was just trying to highlight the option might have some disadvantages. Not trying to cause any upset. Thanks for all your suggestions.

I finally took a look at the new facia. I understand the need to differentiate but I prefer the non-jubilee fascia.

OK, it's gone.

The panels will be printed with Diamond Edition in a more refined manner, possibly in a handwriting font.
