Is there any real world benefit from adding a low jitter clock to a CD player?
It will be feeding an external DAC over coax SP/DIF.

If it were me I'd be very skeptical. I'd probably just use the CDP normally without adding anything to it. If I wanted to try something else I'd get a different, newer CDP if I was not happy with the sound of the old one. If you are happy with the sound, maybe just leave things alone.

My 2 cents.

Hi Kevin,
I'd also be sceptical - many years ago I had my Meridian CD transport 'upgraded' with a new clock
but could hear little difference.

I'm also sceptical about upgrading clocks. With my Pink Faun PCIe cards for both S/PDIF and USB, I just use the onboard clock on each card even though they both have the option of upgrading the clock via an onboard plugin. I'm of the opinion that having the option to add a dedicated low noise linear PSU would make much more of an audible difference than the incremental difference in timing/jitter between the different clocks. I will do more comparisons in the future using my Tozzi Two, CHP-90 and CHR-90 speakers via Spatia cables. If there is a difference, I will hear it with those.
We do not see things as they are. We see things as we are.
