TI has an Excalibur version or the TLE2071 with a 35V/us slew rate and an output current of 20mA. Sound interesting?

If you read from the top of the page down, you'll see it was already discussed. The negative and positive slew rates are different which will cause distortion in the RIAA network capacitors.
It's 6 AM and I just slept like a log for 12 hours. I have the day off so I think I'll spin some vinyl.

Question: If a good discreet regulator circuit is used, can the 3 pin regulator in the Genera be bypassed? Also, can the Genera run on a regulated 24VDC? I have a Sigma 11 supply, which can be configured to either 24V or 18V.

Any supply up to 36VDC can be used to power the circuit instead of the 18VDC regulator. |

Finished my Genera a couple of days ago. It has had a couple of days with power on only, but I couldn't resist having a quick listen today. Most impressed, initial impressions are that it is at least equal to my (early) Fanfare, but then cartridge choice etc has also to be taken into account. A nice even well balanced sound with plenty of detail, also a distinct lack of surface noise, clicks or pops. Bass extension is promising, quite tight as yet, with good definition of lower bass.
The next few weeks will see plenty of listening to see how the burn in process develops with the Genera and my newly upgraded SOLO with the DIY ULDE upgrade card. Some photos of the finished Genera, one tweak I included was to mount the LED on the underside of the pcb. This then only requires one bend of the leadout wireswhen inserting the pcb into the case. I also had to slightly counterbore the inner faces of the earthed pcb mounting pillar and the earth terminal to get a sound earth, the anodising proving too good for the serrated washers to break through and make a connection.
