I have various lengths of Spatia here, and also some Lautus cables.
Posting anything at the moment is going to take time, as the post offices are mostly closed, and the postal service is working 3 days a week.

What speakers do you have now? If they have a sensitivity greater than 80dB/1watt @ 1meter, the Proprius amp can drive them well.

Nice to know speaker manufacturers are scaring people away from our amps... It's only 3dB difference in sound pressure, and it takes -10dB to sound half as loud. The Proprius is far from weak. If it was too weak I wouldn't dare allow it on the loaner program, would I? |

I have KEF ref. 203. Sensitivity is 89 db, amplifier requirements are 50-200 W/8Ω. That is from specification list.

A bit daft in my opinion seeing we listen at 0.3 to 1 watt most of the time.
Amplifier power above 1 watt is to handle the transients (as far as home listening goes - PA and disco being different). The Proprius caters for 14dB of transient information (the maximum possible level increase from a vinyl record). So, 89 + 14 + 3 = 106 dB 1m in front of speakers, and with speaker spacing of 2 metres, the seating position should be 2 meters in front of the speakers, so the loss will be 6dB. Therefore these speakers will give you 100dB at your ears using Proprius amps. Where did the 3 come from above? Well, you're using 2 speakers, so the SPL increases by 3dB. |

PS. A good book on the subject of power, sound pressure levels and loudness, is Public Address Systems by Vivian Capel (Focal Press). After studying it you will never be at the mercy of hi-fi waffle again. We're here to help people understand, rather than confuse the sh*t out of them.

100dB would be pretty loud for me, considering I listen at much lower levels most of the time. I think people often don't realize what level they are typically listening at. You can download a decibel app program for your smartphone...probably not lab grade accuracy but would give you a rough idea maybe.
