Thanks Ian. I think I’m going to have to get myself some finer wire than I’ve scavenged from various bits of cable about the place. What gauge or cross sectional area should I be looking for to be as thin as sensible?

Ifor, I'd use some 0.5mm^2 flex, like that typically used for table lamps and the like. Quite easy to strip out the individual cores. Small hardware shops or Wickes, B&Q etc sell small packs of this type of cable if you haven't an old one you can cannabilise. Alternatively you could use "equipment wire", but buying a small quantity is difficult. Ian |

They certainly used to fill the need for buying single components. Even if they didn't have exactly what you wanted there was usually an alternative that would suffice. Pity they didn't manage to save the online side of the business.
