It's a good question. I think it would be levelling the main plinth or base and the floating chassis/bearing/platter/tonearm. |

Hamish Robertson (that's another story!) decided, probably through lots or research and testing, that a sprung subchassis was perfect. Why change it? Years ago I fitted a set of L*nn LP12 springs and mountings to my Ariston turntable because the originals were bit "tired". A perfect fit. I wonder why? As an aside and out of curiosity - why is the "i" always substituted by an asterisk? Doesn't happen with Vera Lynn.
