A Solid9 with an Audiomods arm would be a giant killer, Ifor! Even more so in yellow . . .
I'm guessing you may have seen this review of exactly this combination? (not in yellow, though - "Deep Nocturne" which is Corian-speak for black).

Twist the silver knob by the platter to loosen it, and then slide it away from the platter for 45 or nearer the platter for 33, then tighten it up again to prevent any movement. The knob is connected to a slider constrained at either end to set the correct speed. You can adjust the end stops if you need to. The slider has a bar connecting it to the idler wheel which is spring loaded against the tapered shaft of the motor. The speed change is, in effect infinitely variable between 33 and 44 if you leave the knob at an intermediate position. Here's a view from the bottom showing the tapered spindle and the idler wheel. The idler wheel is in constant contact with the spindle, so pressing the on-off switch immediately starts the platter spinning. |

Thanks Bob. I had forgotten about the constraining bolts so I was imagining setting by strobe every time.

Setting by strobe each time would be a real PITA!
