That would have been a simple solution, however, looking at the arm setup instructions again the angle of the weight at start and finish of the record should be a similar angle below and above horizontal respectively. Is that roughly what you have?
Just listen, if it sounds good to you, enjoy it.

Yes, that is roughly what I now have, but it's been a b***er getting there.

It has been quite a journey from the days when you first stripped down the 75 to the finished article. Hope you manage to get the cable soon so that you can enjoy the sound.
Just a thought on setting the bias pulley, is it possible to set the arm at mid arc of the playing surface then adjust the support block for the bias weight threaded arm to be level.
