Bought my 1st Jimi Hendrix album back in '72 - still listening - still think he's unmatched.  Used to really like guys/bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bro's, Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Ry Cooder - not so much now. (To be honest - can't stand Freebird!).

Now my favorite guitarists are Robby Krieger, Steve Hackett, Steve Howe, Robert Fripp, Marc Ribot...

'Best solo' ? ...  Jimi's interplay with Stevie Winwood, Dave Mason and Chris Wood,  on Rainy Day Dream Away, blows me away !!

The original album version of this song was a pretty raw song. Saw this reworked version of it live at Hyde park & it blew me away. Possibly one of the best rock songs & hardly known or played on the radio. I Knew Tom Morello was good but he makes the song. Turn it up!

Adrian Belew's off the wall solo on Porcupine Tree's Deadwing (it's the 2nd solo).
