I missed posting about this one, may not always be cool to talk about 'girl groups' and boy bands on forums but Ronnie Spector of the Ronnetes died last month.

One can argue about the Hal Blayne opening one Be My Baby and the 'wall of sound' but still a great voice.

To me the trouble with girl & boy bands today is most don't have much talent and with girl bands it's look sexy and wear as little as possible, before anyone uses the sex discrimination card if a man went out with just a thong on they would be up for indecent exposure. Bananarama were all girl but they all had talent and didn't show as much flesh as they do today, there was also the likes of Fun Boy Three and more up to date Take That now I may not like him but there is no denying Robbie Williams had talent.
Each to there own and some like that type of music but for some that take their music that bit more seriously as you said Steve "it's just not cool"
Don't know much about Ronnie Spector but I did hear she had a vary good voice. RIP

I doubt there would have been a "Born to Run" if there wasn't a "Be my baby" It's so obvious where Springsteen got his inspiration from if you listen to them back to back. The wall of sound & the vocals are so similar

Everyone from JAMC to the Ramones were influenced by the Ronettes. Hugely influential group. RIP.
