 How is your year starting?

Today I wake up to a tremendous thunder storm in eastern Kentucky!
Tons of rain! At least I have a very safe, leak-proof, lightening-proof house (made so by me).
I hope this is not an omen.

People around the world are scared of things happening already and of what else may be coming.
Let us try to find the positive side of all things and concentrate on how we can make it better.

(Often mistaken as a Bob Marley song,
but actually by Bobby McFerrin

(whistling)
Here's a little song i wrote,
you might want to sing it note for note,
don't worry, be happy

in every life we have some trouble,
when you worry you make it double
don't worry, be happy

dont worry be happy now
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
aint got no place to lay your head,
somebody came and took your bed,
don't worry, be happy

the landlord say your rent is late,
he may have to litagate,
dont worry (small laugh) be happy,

look at me im happy,
don't worry, be happy

i give you my phone number,
when your worried, call me,
i make you happy

don't worry, be happy

aint got no cash, aint got no style,
aint got no gal to make you smile
but don't worry, be happy

cos when you worry, your face will frown,
and that will bring everybody down,
so don't worry, be happy

don't worry, be happy now...

don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy

now there this song i wrote
i hope you you learned it note for note
like good little children

dont worry be happy

listen to what i say
in your life expect some trouble
when you worry you make it double
dont worry be happy
be happy now

dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry
dont worry be happy
don't worry, don't worry, don't do it,
be happy, put a smile on your face,
don't bring everybody down like this

don't worry, it will soon pass whatever it is,
don't worry, be happy,
i'm not worried

Hopefully you won't get any more devastating tornadoes over there, like a few weeks back. That looked like carnage...

I'm not worried, I choose to "be happy"! Smile

I am fortunate to live in eastern KY where the mountains are tall enough and jumbled up enough, with no straight valleys, so high winds do not develop or get sustained here.
The devastating tornadoes happened 100's of miles west of where I live where it is mostly flat land.
That was in western KY near the Mississippi and Ohio rivers.

The high winds happening in these mountains are mostly on the ridge-tops.
I'll see the trees bending over on the mountain tops and have just a breeze here in front of my house.

So far, in the 20+ years I've lived in KY, most severe weather has veered north or south of these mountains.
I hope they continue to do so.

I agree, lets consider those who have lost and be glad for what we have. Happy new year to everyone.
