Hi all,
I just had the tremendous pleasure of two weeks at home with the powered ELAC Navis ARB51. What a tremendous value for money bit of kit! I used them on the end of my RP8/Accession combination. Power and poise and punch. Anyone on the lookout for a midrange-rich powered speaker should take a look. Tremendous bass control, too.

At their price they couldn’t compete with the Proprius/PMC setup I usually use, but I suppose nor should they. What’s really interesting is the lesson about power; 300w a side for the ELACs certainly produced control, but the 25w from the Proprius needs no comment. The Proprius produce such rich colours and vivid sound stages with whatever speakers I try them with.

Cheers,
Mick.
